West End residents ordered to evacuate (Galveston County Daily News)
GALVESTON — Mayor Lyda Ann Thomas ordered an evacuation of Galveston's West End, starting at 7 a.m. Thursday. She encouraged the rest of the island's residents to leave voluntarily.
